The Charles Anderson Fake Book is the best one available for the musician who wants to play traditional jazz and pop music from 1870-1970. The central focus of the collection is the 1920s. It is written as melody with chords and lyrics, in concert pitch. It is large and expensive, but the most complete collection you will find, with lots of stuff available nowhere else. Here is the information about the Anderson Fake Book. The unit cost is 8 cents per page, postpaid in the US only, and currently has 5729 pages, 8.5 x 11 inches, 3 hole punched, printed both sides. Anderson has also started a new fake book called the Verse and Chorus Fake Book. It consists of tunes that were in the first pages of the original fake book, but with the missing verses written in. Available so far are Pages 1-252, which I have incorporated into the index as Pages 10001-10252, so the index can be used with both fake books. Call for availability and more info.
